Description Plywood and off-the-shelf parts quickly became the calling card for the Eameses' honest design ethos. The Eames Desk Unit (EDU) was no different with its plywood top, masonite panels, and collection of familiar metal components. Taking the design cues from the Eames Storage Unit (ESU), the EDU rounded out the office collection. However, the 2nd generation was a short lived collection being manufactured for only a few short years (1952-1955).
This example has a birch plywood top with neutral masonite panels.
